Library

This is the wonderful media center! About 120 kids come in each day. Students have media at least once a week. The most popular book to check out is The Elephant and Piggie series. Book Club takes place every morning before school and about 10-50 kids attend each day. This gives students another opportunity to enrich themselves with literature. Students are able to checkout 3 books at a time. There are well over 1,000 books in the media center. A neat incentive we have here at school is that kids that behave well get Sanders Certificates. You can purchase 4 books over the year using Sander Certificates. We love Sanders Certificates! I hope you enjoyed the tour of the media center!

Commons Area

This is the commons room. It is used for Kids Connection, Boy and Girl Scouts, Gingerbread House making, student projects, student/teacher study groups, and before and after school. Don’t forget delicious food is served here! Every day about 140 kids wait in the commons area for the 8:00 bell that begins school. Many teachers “check out” the commons area for special projects. Last, but not least, it provides room for child care too. I hope you enjoyed your virtual tour!

Art Room

This is our wonderful art room where beauty is made! Miss Fettin is our art teacher. She normally sees about 130 students each day. The most popular projects students chat about is clay wishing globes. Special supplies in the art room include pastels, clay, paint, and watercolors. The students learn about artist and their styles of art they create. Once our pupils leave our building after 5th grade, they have a better understanding of art and artists, the process of making art, and the history of art. After school, there are about 25 students that chose to be in our art club. Art club takes place on Wednesday every week. The students in art club stay after school to work on many various projects. Music

This is the amazing music room! Kindergarten- 5th grade come here at least 2 times a week and sometimes 3 times a week. About 130 students come to music each day. Mrs. Stoltenberg is our wonderful music teacher. The music room carries over 100 instruments. That’s a lot!!! Each year Mrs. Stoltenberg plans a music program for each grade. Starting in 1st grade you start playing the Orff instruments. In kindergarten you start learning about composers. There is so much to learn in music!

Upper Lab

This is our amazing Upper Lab. About 120 kids come to the upper lab each day. This makes 28 classes per week that take place in the Upper Lab. Wow...Kids’ favorite game to play in the upper lab on the computer is Blabberize. For example, Blabberize is a website that you can get a photo from the Internet and make the picture talk. It is the best! Teachers cannot check out this lab to use. It is only used for the students’ technology classes. We have 28 computers in the upper lab. The computers are awesome! The most common computer problem in this lab is freezing. The computers freeze when they get overloaded on the servers. Mrs. Sanders, the upper lab teacher, says she would like to have clickers and tablets. There is so much technology out there and it is good for students to be able to use it. When students come into the lab, they either work on projects, fun sites, or have free time. There is always so much going on in the Upper Lab!

Gym

The gym is a fun place to be. Mr. Smith is the P.E. teacher. He teaches us many games and sports. One of the most favorite games to play is Jail Break. In Jail Break, you throw yarn balls and if you get hit by one, you go to the jail on the other side. A person can try to rescue you, but if they get hit, they go to jail. Other games we learn are basketball, Capture the Rings, volleyball, football, Big Base Kickball, and much more. In the morning, you can go to Cardio Club. It is inside or outside depending on the weather. When it is inside, there is music. There is also Field Day. During Field Day we play games. Our P.E. teacher helps so much! That is what happens in our gym.

Office

This is the office. We have many people that work in the office. They are the ones that the teachers and students rely on when they need help with something.
